Senior Counsel, Digital Marketing & IP

In this key legal role, you will advise the business on a wide range of marketing and advertising matters as well as PR and IP. This will encompass digital marketing, media, sales, promotions, sponsorships, retail, and mobile payments as well as e-commerce and data privacy. You will lead on relevant legal support for content generation and you will working closely with the marketing team.

You will need to acquire in-depth knowledge of the business and its direction to best enable you to advise accordingly and find solutions within the realm of advertising and consumer regulations. You will develop strong relationships within the business, particularly with the marketing division, which will assist you in providing dedicated legal support to the customer and market facing teams in the business. You will answer ad hoc queries in relation to a range of commercial matters but specifically marketing and consumer law, as well as being involved with marketing initiatives on a more strategic level.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong contracts background with detailed knowledge of digital marketing and IP. Experience in consumer law would also be an advantage. You must have previously worked with consumer brands and ideally you will have strong knowledge of advertising codes and consumer regulations. Wider general commercial and IP experience is also key. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to operate in a very commercial manner.
