A clear long-standing leader in structured products in the USA, this AM law top 20 firm has a market leading offering in nearly all forms of structured finance - including securitisation, derivatives, CLOs and covered bonds.
In London the structured products team is itself highly rated and has successfully mirrored much of the US team’s success. Nevertheless, unlike in the US, the team does not have a partner-level specialist with sufficient profile in the CLO space to be able to secure matters in situations other than where they are, to all intents and purposes, handed to them on a plate.
The law firm is keen to close this lacuna with the hire of a structured products lawyer with a standing in CLO’s sufficient that, when combined with the firms’ own strong brand name and US CLO credentials, they would be a credible partner to pitch for European arranger or collateral/ portfolio manager matters.
Although the firm has a clear “gap” in the CLO space the team is aware that product preferences change and are keen to hire a partner who is happy and able to assist on wider structured products matters using CLO and securitisation architecture as the market inevitably develops.
