Asset Management– London – Interim Legal Counsel – 6-12 months – up to £750/day
A leading global asset manager, headquartered in the US, is looking for an Interim Legal Counsel to join for a period of 6-12 months as a result of the company’s rapid growth. Positioning themselves as ‘a niche fund’, you will be joining a small legal team, reporting to the EMEA legal head, that mainly focuses on debt issuance and UCITS funds. You will be expected to assist the team with all corporate legal needs across EMEA, working closely with several European branches, including: advising on legal issues surrounding institutional funds, negotiating and drafting third party contracts (investment management contracts, brokerage contracts, services agreements, custody arrangements), portfolio management and implementing regulatory change (MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD).
The preference is for lawyers with strong alternatives or investment management backgrounds. Knowledge of fund-related legislation (as listed above) is also desired. You must be 3-10PQE and you will have trained at a magic circle, silver circle or top-US firm within a funds or broader financial services practice. Applicants from private practice, UK or US qualified, are welcomed, however, you must be available to start within the month.
