The contentious Regulatory practice of this mid-sized City law firm forms part of the wider Commercial Disputes group offering. Drawing on experience from contentious matters, the team also handles risk management and compliance advisory work for financial services firms, particularly in insurance and wealth / asset management.
Current matters include FCA Enforcement relating to PPI complaints handling, internal investigation on behalf of a big four accountancy firm and systemic mis-selling exposures and past business reviews.
In line with the firm's strategic expansion of its regulatory and disputes practices, and in order to continue to build on the back of our successful client base, the contentious regulatory team is now seeking an additional financial services lawyer to be a part of this on-going success story. We are seeking to appoint a contentious regulatory lawyer with 4+ years' PQE.
The candidate will be advising on all areas of the team's practice, from corporate investigations, representing individuals (such as ForEx traders or LIBOR submitters), fielding urgent risk management and compliance queries from the firm's insurance and asset management clients, handling claims and complex complaints relating to systemic mis-selling, mandate or financial promotion breaches and assisting client's with regulatory projects (product launches, new business models, shadow s.166 and governance reviews).
Candidates should have a very strong academic background, an agile intellect, commercial acumen and a practical approach. Just as important are a sociable personality, professionalism and a genuine interest and flair for financial services law and regulation. Demonstrable commitment to fostering long-term client and referral network relationships is key. The successful candidate will be UK qualified and will have developed good quality experience at a recognised regulatory practice or in-house team.
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
