Our Client, an international FTSE business, is seeking an In-House Employment paralegal to join their Central London legal team. This is a newly created permanent role reporting into the General Counsel and supporting the company’s key business functions.
The role is highly varied, with an equal mix of both contentious and non-contentious matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advisory and litigation support services to the business on a wide range of employment law issues, including assisting with managing negotiations on behalf of organisation, dealing with exit strategies and drafting settlement agreements. You will also assist in drafting and reviewing pleadings, letters of advice and witness statements and preparing written submissions for preliminary and final case hearings.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Assistance with managing employment tribunals
- Dealing with unfair dismissal claims
- Help renewing the company’s employment policies and procedures
- This also includes the New Gender Pay Regulations
- Advising on TUPE, providing in-house support concerning Trade Union matters, redundancies and indemnities
- Advising and supporting key regional HR business partners, this entails regional monthly meetings, reviewing cases and occasionally acting as a witness
- Assisting with drafting and negotiating some general commercial contracts
The ideal candidate will have prior in-house experience, but not essential. The hiring manager is particularly interested in individuals who are ambitious, have high attention to detail, are self-motivated and possess strong stakeholder management skills.
This is an excellent opportunity for an employment paralegal who is seeking an in-house move and/or greater autonomy within a fast-paced business where their advice will be pivotal in the company’s business decisions. The successful candidate will be supported by the Head of Employment Law, General Counsel, the Group HR Director and the rest of the legal function. Highly competitive remuneration.
