The Client 

Our client is a city-based leading specialist IP law firm. The firm is widely acknowledged as a leading performer in patent litigation and blue chips brands practice.  

Across the various department area ranking websites, the firm is regularly ranked in the top-tier, for both Intellectual Property and the more specific area of patent litigation.  

The Role 

  • Appearing before the UK Patents Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, Court of Justice of the European Union and the EFTA Court 
  • Navigating domestic, European and international registers of patents, trademarks and register designs 
  • Establishing ownership of existing rights, or registering new rights 
  • Appealing against unfavourable decisions 
  • Drafting desist letters to infringing actors, issue court proceedings and prepare cases for trial  
  • Instruct and consult with barristers 
  • Drafting commercial agreements between owners of IP rights and those who which to use the right 
  • Working alongside other practice areas when required 

The Requirements 

  • Qualified in England and Wales, or able to work in the jurisdiction 
  • Newly qualified and up to 4 years post-qualification experience associates will be considered for the role 
  • Strong experience in patent litigation 
  • Strong academic record 
  • Trained at a top city or international firm
