Contracts Manager or Paralegal
A leading science and technology consultancy Group is seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join the team at their Head Office near Cambridge.
Operating across the UK, North America and Europe, the businesses within the Group specialise in providing a variety of services such as product development and technology advisory to clients in multiple sectors.
Working in a tight-knit team and reporting to the Head of Legal you will provide legal support to the various scientists, engineers and market experts across the Group. There is substantial room for development and training across a variety of areas including Company Secretarial, IP, Employment and investor relations. The central legal team handles work across multiple jurisdictions including the United States so this is a fantastic opportunity for exposure to international work.
Whilst developing your knowledge in the above areas your main responsibilities will include:
*Reviewing, amending and negotiating client and supplier NDAs, project agreements and other contracts
*Advising business managers on contract issues and escalating to the Executive team as appropriate
*Attending business bid review meetings and reviewing and advising on project proposal documentation
*Maintaining statutory books, minutes and official filings for subsidiary companies across all jurisdictions
*Assisting the Group Legal Counsel with documentation and filings relating to listed company and regulatory matters
*Implementing compliance with corporate governance requirements in conjunction with the Group Legal Counsel
*Assisting in the preparation of AGM notice and documentation
*Assisting the Group Legal Counsel with tenant matters, facilities contracts and leases across the Group's locations
*Reviewing and advising on other matters handled by the legal team
You will be a 0-2 PQE lawyer with good experience of commercial contracts. Any experience of company secretarial work would be advantageous but the key element is a willingness to be brought on in a variety of areas; the team has a strong track record of this having provided training contracts in the past.
