Your new company
A global retail and supply chain organisation with a global turnover of over £5billion that has a long-celebrated ethos of empowering its people. The company has a supportive, flexible and high-achieving culture, and the offices hold roughly 700 people in a custom built, state of the art complex. Employees are rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including a car (or allowance), fantastic pension, performance bonus and retail discounts.
Your new role
A corporate legal role, reporting into the Head of Legal, within a small but highly integrated and respected legal function that has a combination of employment, commercial, supply chain and data protection expertise. This role will be the corporate specialist role in the team, ideal for lawyers in private practice corporate departments looking to move in-house without diluting their role with significant commercial work. The work will involve advising on corporate reorganisation, share buybacks, acquisitions and corporate governance. Additionally, you will support the team with legal guidance on business critical projects, transactions and contracts, interacting with sales, marketing and corporate functions.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK qualified corporate lawyer with at least 2 years' PQE (as a rough guide only), and experience either at a reputable firm or in-house legal function is welcomed. You will have demonstrable corporate experience, including reorganisation, acquisition, governance and capital reductions work. You will need to be a team player able to contribute in general advisory, contracts and legal support matters. Honest and open personalities with strong stakeholder management ability will thrive in this environment.
What you'll get in return
A fantastic culture within which you can build a long-term career and an enviable benefits package. The UK entity is the holding company for numerous group companies, so the quality of corporate work will be high. The company allows its people to work a day from home upon passing probation, while there is a good deal of flexibility to work around important personal commitments. This is an empowering culture with a history spanning over 100 years.
