Our specialist, award-winning IP team is looking to build upon and strengthen their dedicated trade mark and design practice, with the recruitment of a Paralegal on a part time basis (likely to be three days per week / around 20 hours).  Based from our Leeds office and working alongside experienced solicitors and trade mark attorneys, this is a great opportunity to develop a specialism in trade marks with a highly regarded team whilst developing relationships with a number of the firm's key clients, in a variety of interesting sectors.

What will you be doing?

In this busy and varied role you'll be an integral part to the day-to-day workings of the team, and provide much needed support as the team grows. As part of the team, you'll work to build relationships with clients, colleagues and overseas agents, to ensure the smooth running of the trade mark and designs practice.

This will involve creating, updating and monitoring the records in our specialist database (WebTMS), and gathering information to generate weekly reports. You'll be responsible for allocating tasks to team members, to keep everyone on top of their deadlines, and for dealing with incoming notifications, requiring you to liaise with trade mark and design registries, and with foreign agents, to progress client instructions.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

This type of work is process and deadline driven, and understanding the importance of quality, accurate data entry will be key to this role. You'll also be organised, efficient, self-motivated, and able to handle a demanding work load.  Whilst previous legal or IP experience is not essential, any previous practical experience in this area will give your application a distinct advantage.

So what's in it for you?

This opportunity provides genuine scope to increase your depth of responsibilities, in the hope of undertaking formal qualifications to advance in this field. You'll be joining a successful and interesting team who offers a friendly, supportive yet focused working environment.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.

If you think that’s you, why not get in touch to find out more; my name is Emma Forrester and you can reach me on 0117 989 6593.
