Infrastructure Fund M&A / Corporate Counsel

Our client is an energy investment company with assets under management exceeding $40 billion in over 12 countries. The main focus of the fund is Europe and North America but smaller positions are taken in emerging markets. They invest in businesses operating across production, refining and supply of oil and energy products. They develop and invest in infrastructure once acquired, grow through regular acquisitions and look to maximise their returns through strategic partnerships. They rigorously asses all their potential investments to fit into a long-term growth plan.
The successful candidate will cover the groups global M&A, corporate and corporate finance workload as part of a team of seven other lawyers in their London office.
You will be involved throughout the life cycle of transactions supported by external counsel where appropriate. Wider corporate and financing issues will arise but the main focus of this role is M&A.
Energy experience is not a prerequisite for this role.
The successful candidate will have worked at a top tier international law firm or in-house institution and be used to handling significant volumes of complex deals.
You will have covered either Public or Private M&A. Additional experience in corporate finance, banking or project development matters would be a plus.
You will be Common Law qualified with 4+ PQE and an ability to work autonomously whilst still being part of a wider legal team.
In-house experience on a secondment or permanent basis is a plus.
