Do you want to be a leader in the business of law?

Who are we?
The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world’s largest law schools. With an impressive history going back to 1876, it employs nearly 700 staff and attracts over 7000 students to study on its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. ULaw has an outstanding reputation as a full service legal and educational training specialist, operating from eleven campuses throughout England with additional global reach through online and face to face provision.

The University is now on a journey to expand its activities, taking advantage of new opportunities provided by the future changes to legal professional qualifications and our gold TEF status. Building on recent growth across all areas of the portfolio, including our dedicated Business School, we have exciting and ambitious plans for expansion and diversification.

What are we looking for?
We now have a vacancy for a Campus Dean at our Leeds site.  Based in the heart of this exciting city, the successful candidate will have the advantage of building upon an already established, high quality reputation with students, legal firms and local businesses.

The Dean is responsible for providing leadership to both academic and business professional staff. Naturally, a key element is the day to day management of the Campus, including the development of our programmes, our staff and resources. Moreover, business development and relationship management will also be critical in expanding the client base across law firms and businesses in the region, as well as marketing the University to its prospective student population.

Could this be you?
You will be a senior manager with significant experience of operating and leading in an educational, legal or commercial environment. You will have experience of motivating and developing a diverse team and delivering results across a complex operational portfolio, including matrix management skills. You will have a demonstrable understanding and knowledge of the legal market place and legal education, coupled with a confident approach to building relationships, developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong links with stakeholder organisations and their leaders.

An undergraduate degree in Law or equivalent is essential for this role.  Evidence of creating and/or developing further a portfolio of innovative courses or solutions to meet client/stakeholder requirements would be highly desirable.

There has never been a more exciting time to join the University of Law – if you are ready to be challenged and enjoy working in an innovative, fast-paced environment please see details of how to apply below.
