Opportunity for a commercial disputes partner to join an established team within a US firm. The London office is of a medium size, mostly populated by UK and dual qualified lawyers dealing with international work. One of the litigation partners has taken on significant firm management responsibilities, so now is a good time to make a lateral hire into the disputes team.
A number of the London teams are directory rated, including corporate, finance, litigation and employment. London has made some excellent hires over the last couple of years from City and US firms, and are keen to recruit into some other key areas.
This key opportunity in the disputes team would be a good fit for an established litigation partner who can bring a part following and a solid client network; they are cognisant of the challenges often faced by litigators on this point. Ideally this person will be experienced in mainstream disputes, either entirely commercial litigation or a mix of litigation and arbitration. A mixed practice would fit best within the group although they do have some sector focus; energy, private equity, life sciences and FMGC are core areas.
Crucially, the right candidate will have an ambitious and focused nature. The firm is keen to grow their litigation offering and would like an individual on board who can play a major part in this growth. There are excellent opportunities to cross sell other departments and and offices, so someone with good internal networking skills will fit in well. Partners are well remunerated for work they refer internally so you will be rewarded for these efforts.
There is an excellent group of associates in the disputes team so there is support already in situ, as well as two established litigation partners with excellent reputations and who are invested in the success of any individual who joins them.
