Entrepreneurial Senior Associates Blocked for Career Progression? Join this Offshore firm in London

We are working with an elite offshore firm that is recruiting for a senior associate to join the ambitious and growing team in London.

The role will involve working on a very broad range of transactional matters including corporate and financings as well as investment funds matters, and the team in London provides its clients with the full suite of Cayman and BVI law services.

Given the nature of offshore firms in London, there is a large focus on business development, whether that is amongst onshore law firms or otherwise, and the firm is keen to recruit entrepreneurial individuals who have the desire to take on a client-facing role.

Whilst there is the expectation for someone at the senior associate level to take on a supervisory role on transactions, the firm is very supportive in all initiatives to develop new work streams and there is no real protectionism from the Partners that will stymy associates from building a business case towards promotion into the membership.

The partners themselves joined the firm as senior associates from Magic Circle firms in London, and have forged an extremely successful and lucrative career path since making the move.

With this in mind they see the role being an ideal fit for lawyers with a similar background, and are interested in hearing from Magic/Silver Circle senior associates in the City who are ambitious for career progression but may be blocked by the internal team structure or politics at their current firm.

Candidates should be around 5-10 PQE and can be coming from any transactional area within the core corporate or finance departments, as the Partners do not require any precise type of experience given the broad range of work that they do.

There is an ‘above market’ salary package on offer and it should also be noted that the working culture in this firm (and offshore firms in general) is far more relaxed than a traditional onshore City firm.  Long hours are the exception rather than the rule.
