About the Role/Client
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading National Defendant Clinical Negligence firm, who advises the NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and medical defence organisations on wide ranging and important issues. The team is highly regarded and strengthened by a number of former doctors, nurses and other clinicians.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex defendant claims and gain knowledge of the healthcare sector as a whole. Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and attendance of trials and mediations;
- Interviewing and drafting of witness statements;
- Cost management;
- Multi-party litigation;
- ADR/mediation agency arbitration;
- Negotiation of settlement;
- Client training and presentations;
- Supervision of junior fee earners.
The firm offers a very competitive salary and good partnership prospects for the right candidate. The firm also offers agile working, with fee earners being able to work one day per week from home. They are open to considering candidates who would like a part-time or flexible working arrangement.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years PQE with extensive experience in defendant clinical negligence, preferably from an NHSR, MDU or MPS Panel firm. Candidates with a mix of private practice and in-house experience will also be considered.
