SENIOR PROPERTY COUNSEL

3-10 YEARS’ PQE

LONDON

ABOUT THE COMPANY

NCP is passionate about parking services. It is the UK’s largest car park operator, with over 500 sites, and has evolved since its founding in 1931 through private equity ownership as well as through joint ventures and partnerships with local authorities and major infrastructure projects. NCP was recently purchased by Park24, a listed Japanese company, and Development Bank of Japan (DBJ). www.ncp.com

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Property Counsel. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role will provide strategic legal advice and support to the Property and Technical Services teams, the Executive Management team, the Board and to all business areas and functions within the business.

This is an extremely wide-ranging property role which will encompass advising on sales and acquisitions, portfolio management, dispute resolution and construction, as well as managing external lawyers and assisting with general commercial, technology and marketing issues as they arise throughout the business. Particular emphasis will be placed upon promoting legal, company secretarial and corporate governance best practice and ensuring a consistent, pro-active and risk management driven approach across the business.

ABOUT YOU

As a qualified solicitor, you will ideally have at least 3 years’ PQE gained from a strong property firm, looking to further develop your skills in house with a major company. In-house experience would be desirable, but a private practice lawyer looking to move in-house and who can point to good business and commercial skills will be strongly considered.

Commercial property, portfolio management and Landlord & Tenant Act experience and knowledge is key, and an understanding of litigation and dispute resolution procedure and processes would be beneficial. Above all, you must be technically strong but with the commercial acumen to understand how to deal with anything of a legal nature that arises in a fast-moving, consumer oriented and traditional, yet evolving, business.
