Claims handler/senior claims handler P&I and FDD department

Norwegian Hull Club is seeking a claims handler/senior claims handler to join our P&I and FDD department in Oslo. Working with the P&I department, the successful candidate will become a member of a dedicated and dynamic team of specialists working globally within the maritime industry.

The legal and claims team's main responsibility is to provide first-class practical legal advice in a timely manner to demanding international clients; this is in addition to handling their claims. Due to an expanding portfolio an additional team member is required - ideally with experience of P&I and FDD matters.

Personal qualities/preferred experience

The ideal candidate is an English-qualified solicitor (or equivalent), or a claims handler with a minimum of five-to-seven years' experience in a P&I Club, shipping company or law firm. However, we are willing to consider other applicants with relevant qualifications and work experience.

We are seeking someone who can rapidly understand and provide support for the wide variety of challenges our clients face globally. You are organised, service minded, diplomatic and work well under pressure. We would, of course, expect you to contribute positively to an open, friendly and dynamic work environment. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, as are the highest ethical professional standards. Applicants should have an excellent command of English; Norwegian language ability is an advantage but not a necessity.

Applicants should be quick and eager learners and ambitious regarding their personal development. New technological solutions arouse their curiosity and inspire, and they should be able to pick up new systems and techniques quickly.
