Director of Claims - NHS Resolution
NHS Resolution is a not-for-profit organisation working to resolve claims fairly and delivering fair resolution and learning from harm to improve safety. We do this through the work of our three functions:
NHS Resolution – providing indemnity schemes for the NHS in England and resolving claims for compensation fairly.
Practitioner Performance Advice Service – resolving concerns about the performance of individual practitioners.
Primary Care Appeals Service – ensuring the prompt and fair resolution of appeals and disputes between primary care contractors and NHS England.
Grade: ESM Band 1 £90,900 - £113,625 per annum
Location: London with some occasional travel required
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Claims to lead NHS Resolution’s claims function. The successful candidate will lead an expanding team of over 150 staff handling c14,000 compensation claims brought annually against the NHS in England.
This is an excellent role for an experienced senior operational claims or legal services manager who is skilled in leading and implementing change and in investigating claims trends to inform and deliver improvement. As a member of the Senior Management Team, reporting to the Chief Executive the post will play a key role in working across the organisation and with external partners to deliver NHS Resolution’s five year strategy and prepare for its role as administrator of a new state-backed General Practice Indemnity Scheme from April 2019.
The role is open to application for permanent full time, fixed term contract or a secondment.
