A Multinational Services entity is seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to join their in-house function as Deputy General Counsel. The role has been designed to provide legal support and management of the company’s Belgium base. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world-class organisation.
Reporting to the Group General Counsel and Board of Directors, you will be responsible for advising the business on corporate governance, compliance, data protection and anti-corruption measures; as well as reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of complex international distribution agreements (Europe), consultancy agreements and health & safety matters. Some experience of dealing with HR legal requirements such as employment contracts and Employee Relations is desirable, but not essential.
You will be expected to provide high quality and timely legal advice in connection with the resolution of contractual disputes and contract management/interpretation issues.
It is essential that the candidate is European qualified and has excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals and back office functions across the business. Ideally, the successful candidate will have trained within a leading Legal 500 or City law firm and subsequently worked in-house. Fluency in an additional language such as Belgium/French/Dutch/Italian is essential.
This is a superb opportunity to join a highly skilled in-house team that is part of an established global enterprise. The role offers the successful applicant a challenging and varied workload, highly competitive remuneration and the opportunity to influence an already successful and growing brand.
