We have been instructed by a prestigious US Firm looking for an Environment and Planning Associate to join their expanding office in Melbourne.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level Associate to join a global brand in Australia as it expands its presence in the country, building on an established network of offices in the Asia Pacific region. The role has arisen as the partners are looking to expand the Melbourne practice due to their growing demand in the Australian market.
As well as other sectors, the role has a focus on the real estate and planning aspects of projects in the energy and infrastructure markets. The position will involve offering planning and environment expertise on such projects – often high-profile and headline grabbing acquisitions or financings.
The successful candidate will have at least 7 years’ experience of high quality environment and planning work, and be capable of autonomously managing such aspects of these transactions by having ideally gained previous experience of these deals in at least one Australian jurisdiction.
This opportunity is open to Australian and New Zealand qualified lawyers as well as foreign lawyers looking to make a positive life-changing move to the contemporary and lively city of Melbourne. As part of this role, there will be regular travel to the Sydney office, which provides further opportunities for foreign lawyers to explore the sunny east coast of Australia, as well as the prospect of international client visits and foreign office secondments via the firm’s extensive global footprint.
The firm offers a competitive salary package, together with above market benefits to their lawyers. Relocation packages and sponsorship are available to the right candidates.
Given the current team structure, this is an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join a growing Environment and Planning team on a genuine and realistic track to partnership.
At Duke and Rawson, we have extensive experience relocating lawyers from other countries to Australia for elite level opportunities, and we will be able to assist with any career-related matters for the move.
