We are keen to hear from high calibre commercial litigators with excellent academics and a breadth of general commercial litigation experience for our client, a dynamic boutique claimant litigation firm specialising in competition and financial services litigation. Acting almost exclusively for claimants, including multinational corporations through to SMEs and private individuals, much of their work is international or multi-jurisdictional in nature and sees their London team working closely with colleagues across their international network.
With a minimum of 2yrs+ experience gained within a leading City litigation practice and a strong academic pedigree, applicants will have proven experience of running multiple files acros a range of commercial and banking disputes matters. With excellent knowledge of the CPR and experience in the key stages of litigation, including disclosure and preparation for disclosure, witness statements, dealing with experts (preferably experience of dealing with expert economists), applications and CMCs, you will ideally have experience of conducting settlement dialogues and settling litigation. Those with ancillary experience of acting for claimants in litigation and dealing with funders/insurers would also be very useful.
Further, candidates should be keen to take on a considerable degree of autonomy and responsibility, both in terms of client work and business development activities, and be capable of grasping and employing new and innovative concepts, as this is relevant to several aspects of our client’s practice such as group litigation and third party funding. Although there are inevitably occasions when members of the team work late, our client tries hard to achieve a genuine work-life balance for its employees. The team is very friendly and sociable and believe in what they are trying to achieve as a firm, which makes them a compelling and refreshing place to work for those who work well within a close knit, collegiate environment.
If you are looking for an opportunity where you can take charge of a portfolio of cases in the financial services area, with strategic decision-making responsibility depending on experience, our client would be very keen to hear from you.
