Professional Support Lawyer
Salary £77,273
Role
We’re looking for a Professional Support Lawyer to maintain and develop a comprehensive support service to the Legal team and to ensure that the legal knowledge across TPR is captured and recorded.
Responsibilities
You will:
- manage and develop the ongoing provision of a searchable legal know-how system of items relevant to the operation of TPR for use by all TPR lawyers which will include:
o relevant DB, AE and DC pensions legal references, previous advice and precedent;
o the provision of reliable and quick access to relevant legal information to support legal advice to TPR’s decision makers
o regularly updated and good quality information;
o promotion of accurate and consistent TPR in-house legal advice;
o provision of practical guidance and tools for TPR lawyers;
- manage contributions from all relevant TPR lawyers with administrative assistance from paralegal / support staff
- cover areas of pensions law relevant to DB, AE and DC regulation.
- design and co-ordinate general pensions law training for all TPR staff
- design and co-ordinate legal training to the TPR legal team
- produce regular summary legal updates for relevant TPR staff
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales
- Experience of capturing and collating information for knowhow purposes
- Experience in different methods of training delivery
- Understanding of Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information and public law principles
- Understanding of principles of litigation, including privilege
- Awareness of the key requirements of pensions legislation
Desirable
- Two of the following areas required:
o Pensions law
o Litigation experience
o Public law
- Knowledge of Occupational, Personal and Master Trust pension scheme regulation and administration (including TPR policies and procedures)
- Understanding of pensions industry trends and issues
