FINANCIAL SERVICES REGULATORY SOLICITOR - SENIOR ASSOCIATE Central London
Ref: 12968
Salary: c. £130,000 to £170,000+
Platform, prospects and pay - this career move has it all.
Having deep relationships with all the major financial institutions operating in the UK and Europe, and further afield, this firm can offer an ambitious financial services regulatory senior associate the perfect platform upon which to build a lasting career.
The firm is devoted to its financial services client base, and its market leading full service offering to these clients includes a complete suite of transactional banking and corporate capabilities. With a track record for delivering on all manner of challenging cross-border mandates, the firm has become a supplier of choice for the most complex of matters, and this equally applies to the financial services regulatory practice specifically.
Significant financial services businesses that have become accustomed to using the firm for a large proportion of its most important legal matters naturally turn to the firm's impressive financial services regulatory practice when confronted by a heavyweight issue.
The non-contentious financial services regulatory team enjoys a diverse diet of work, with a leaning towards standalone matters (along with a healthy supply of transactional support work). The partners have a strong reputation on both the buy side and the sell side, and they advise government bodies and trade associations. The team has a strong international network of offices and is able to call upon dedicated expertise in the US, Asia and mainland Europe.
Compared to US headquartered firms with stellar reputations in the States but that have yet to become the first port of call in London for bigger mandates requiring greater resources on the ground here, this firm is a safe bet for any senior associate who wants to be guaranteed a strong pipeline of the very best work.
As the practice continues to attract more and more work, the department will continue to grow, and plans are in place to promote from within. If you have the talent and work ethic, your mid to long-term prospects will be very good here.
Candidates with more financial services regulatory experience within banking or asset management are equally invited to apply, as the department welcomes an abundance of mandates from both areas. Recent work has involved everything from bank reform and ring-fencing projects, to capital and liquidity and recapitalisation matters, derivatives and securities, clearing and settlements, payment systems, M&A support, brokerage, product design, and recovery and resolution plans.
If your experience to date primarily or exclusively stems from a relevant overseas jurisdiction, so long as you have worked with a suitably highly regarded firm and have long term ambitions to forge a successful career in the UK, you are encouraged to apply for this role. You should have the equivalent to at least 4 years of pqe in non-contentious financial services regulation.
