Our client is a major and well know retailer and wholesaler of consumer and pharmaceutical products and is now looking for an EMEA lead Privacy Officer for their pharmaceutical wholesale business based in Surrey.
The role will develop and oversee the implementation and ongoing monitoring of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance within the Pharmaceutical Wholesale (PW) organization. The role will specifically support the Global Privacy Office, key business units, IT, legal department, and executive leadership in demonstrating compliance with data protection principles across a range of customer facing and internal activities including:
The role is a key strategic position within the company and requires a competent and capable individual able to work with strong levels of autonomy in a matrixed organisation. You will also ideally have a law degree and or be a qualified lawyer with relevant experience in data protection. Proven experience as a privacy professional (ideally as a DPO) in an in-house, private-sector setting advising on UK/EU data protection rules is required- although candidates will also be strongly considered from law firms or similar professional service organisations. You will also ideally have experience developing privacy programs, policies and compliance strategies as well as a knowledge and deep understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Languages are not required but can be beneficial and the role will require some moderate European travel.
