An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate/Commercial lawyer with 4-6 years’ PQE to join their UK legal team in Weybridge, Surrey.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate/Commercial Lawyer with 4-6 years’ PQE to take up a varied corporate/commercial role within JTI’s prestigious UK legal team. Corporate lawyers looking to break into a broader commercial role will also be considered.
Reporting to the Head of Legal (UK), you will work in a dynamic, high calibre team including working closely with colleagues across Europe. You will have a wide variety of responsibilities including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating major commercial contracts including supply agreements, distribution agreements and purchasing agreements.
- Advising on wider areas of commercial law including marketing, competition and employment law.
- Advising on compliance across a range of regulatory issues and providing training to the business
- Advising on company law and corporate matters and providing legal advice in relation to entity management and any restructuring (as and when required).
The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer and have strong academic qualifications and have trained at a well-regarded City or regional law firm. You will currently be working in a law firm or have already moved in-house into a broad corporate/commercial role. Ideally you will be someone with experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Non-UK trained lawyers must have completed the QLTT. You should be technically strong as well as commercial in your outlook, with a can-do attitude and the ability to build strong relationships within the business, communicating well at all levels.
