dmg media (“dmg”) is the consumer media subsidiary of DMGT plc; it is a fast-paced, innovative multi-channel media company with global businesses spanning print, digital and e-commerce. dmg reaches 59% of the UK’s adult population. dmg’s instantly recognisable publications include the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and Metro titles and its media portfolio includes websites covering both retail and travel, such as MailShop and MailTravel, along with the world's number one English language newspaper website, MailOnline.
Two opportunities have arisen to join dmg’s mid-size, collegiate, high calibre legal team, based in High Street Kensington; the first individual is likely to have 1-2+ years’ PQE and the second, 3-5+years’ PQE. The appointees will be granted autonomy, awarded high levels of business exposure, including to senior stakeholders and to the c-suite, and undertake a range of genuinely interesting legal work. In addition they will be amply supported in their professional development.
The roles will support the wider group’s businesses spanning Europe, Middle East and Australia and span both B2C and B2B legal issues. There is excellent diversity of work which will include digital, licensing, consumer protection, e-commerce, outsourcing, software, intellectual property, and marketing matters. In addition you will be exposed to corporate matters.
The successful candidates will have excellent academics and have trained with a leading City law firm and have gained post qualification experience in either corporate or commercial law. Exposure to commercial contracts, IP, advertising and marketing matters would be advantageous. However, most essential is a strong technical competence and the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders and the willingness and ability to diversify expertise (where necessary).
