Our client is a very well known business in the media industry and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Law/LPC Graduate, with a minimum of a 2:1 on graduation, to undertake a busy and interesting role as a Legal and Business Affairs Executive. You will have a basic understanding of intellectual property law (particularly copyright and performer rights) and experience of drafting, reviewing and amending commercial contracts. You will need great organisational skills and impeccable attention to detail, along with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise your workload. Any additional language skills, particularly French and German could also be incredibly helpful.
This is a key role within the Business Affairs team and you will report directly to the Director of Legal & Business Affairs, with responsibility for drafting and negotiating key agreements and managing the implementation and administration of those agreements across management teams based in different countries and affiliate and licensee companies worldwide, in respect of frontline and catalogue releases on their various label identities. As a result, you will need to be a confident and an enthusiastic self-starter, comfortable with picking up and drafting contracts and managing day to day administration in a fast-moving legal environment. A natural interest in the music industry will also stand you in good stead.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to get your foot in the door within this fantastic organisation and undertake a broad workload that is both fun and exciting. Although this role would consider a non-qualified lawyer, equally if you are keen to break into the music industry and are a qualified lawyer, you would of course be considered, however the salary is reflective of the level of the role.
In the first instance please submit your CV via The Lawyer and one of our consultants will come back to you in due course, if your current skill set matches the clients needs.
