Dan qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and is the owner of one of the longest serving legal recruitment agencies in the Thames Valley, Ellis-Wake. He regularly advises his client firms on the complexity of the legal market, on their strategic future and is a known 'connector' and 'influencer' in the Thames Valley. Dan's experience stretches back to 2004 and he's seen many significant changes in Global and local legal and recruitment markets and has recruited successfully in all of them.
Ellis-Wake was set up in 2010 to provide a full senior legal recruitment service to law firms in the South East of England focusing on placing associate and partner candidates into the Thames Valley. Ellis-Wake is particularly well placed to advise on these senior hires, as Dan Wake has already placed many high profile lawyers into numerous top Legal 500 practices for well over a decade.
Prior to Ellis-Wake, from 2004 to 2009, Dan headed-up the UK Regional legal private practice team of a Global recruitment agency based in London. Along with running the team, Dan's remit was to recruit lawyers at all levels, but his particular expertise was in placing partners working in London into Regional law firms as well as local partners into local practices, most notably in the Thames Valley. Dan has also written numerous legal recruitment articles on the UK Regions and regularly meets and advises his extensive candidate and client contact base on the general legal market as well as the strategic future of their firms.
