Linklaters has retained 91 per cent of its qualifying trainees this autumn.

The magic circle firm had 56 final-seat trainees, and 51 applied for newly-qualified jobs, with all of them offered one.

Some 47 of the qualifiers will take up NQ roles in London, with two going to Singapore and one each to Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Training principal Nick Rumsby said: “We are very pleased to announce such an impressive retention rate for our September qualification round. We are again fortunate to have a large group of talented junior lawyers qualifying with us – retaining 91 per cent of the cohort is excellent news for Linklaters.”

Linklaters is the third magic circle firm to announce its retention for this September. Allen & Overy has retained 86 per cent of its smallest intake in years, while the figure at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is 95 per cent – that firm’s best result since 2011.
