Clifford Chance posts 80% retention for spring 2016

Clifford Chance is keeping on 80 per cent of its spring 2016 qualifiers.

The magic circle firm offered newly-qualified jobs to 43 of its cohort of 54, with all accepting.

As the graph below shows, Clifford Chance’s retention figures have fluctuated in recent years. The firm tends to do best when its intakes have fewer than 50 trainees.

Last August, CC’s London managing partner David Bickerton said the firm wanted to recruit ten more trainees to cope with the increase in work the firm is experiencing.
