Allen & Overy keeps 91% of spring 2016 qualifiers
Allen & Overy has kept on 91 per cent of its spring 2016 newly-qualified solicitors.
The magic circle firm made offers to 39 of the 41 final-seat trainees who applied for NQ positions, out of a total cohort of 43, with all 39 accepting.
Training principal James Partridge said: “It’s a strong result which we are very pleased with and testament to the continuing quality of our trainees.”
It is a rise on last autumn, when A&O posted a retention rate of 86 per cent, keeping on 38 of 44 qualifying trainees.
As the chart below shows, the 43 spring qualifiers represent A&O’s smallest trainee cohort in many years.
Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer have yet to release their spring retention.
