Opportunity to work with a major UK energy giant and play a key role in protecting the interests of the company and managing regulatory risk.
The role is a broad commercial position but has a particular focus on consumer law and consumer-focused energy regulation.
As part of the wider legal team, the successful candidate will be responsible for advising the business and defending prosecutions involving consumer protection and communication and trading standards. You will work closely with the business, and provide advice on a range of matters, ideally aiming to mitigate litigation and maintain high standards throughout the organisation.
The successful candidate will have experience as a commercial lawyer and have ideally worked in a regulated environment. The regulated experience will have been gained ideally in-house but possibly in a regulatory team in private practice. Knowledge and experience of consumer law would be an advantage. In-house experience, particularly in a similar industry, will be preferred but not essential. You must have the gravitas to work with people at all levels of the organisation, as well as strong commercial acumen.
This could also be an ideal opportunity for a financial services regulatory lawyer to move into a more commercial environment.
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
