Legal Advisor – Corporate and Capital Markets
Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results oriented professional for the position of Legal Advisor, focusing on corporate matters. You will be part of the Legal group which serves as in-house legal department for all of the Fund and interacts closely with internal clients. The group is part of the Corporate Management Department.
Your role will be to prepare legal analysis for other team members and support Norges Bank Investment Managment’s investment and operational departments with legal advice relating to our investments in the securities markets globally.
The position is located in London and will report to Head of Legal located in Oslo. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal analysis and advice concerning:
- general legal matters relevant to the issuers in which we invest and/or the markets in which such issuers operate
- corporate law and market rules relevant to our role as shareholder and to our exercise of ownership rights
- Assisting with monitoring and capturing relevant legal developments in the jurisdictions we are invested in globally
- Selecting and manage the use of external local counsel with the requisite expertise
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients and stakeholders
- Contributing to a hardworking, high-performing team with a focus on results
Main Qualifications: The successful applicant will have the following background / skills
- University degree (Law or similar) with strong academic records
- Qualified legal adviser – preferably with broader subject background (academic or professional)
- 3-5 years relevant experience relating to international corporate law, securities law and market regulations
- Experience advising on cross-border matters is essential and ECM/DCM experience will be an advantage
- Good understanding of the legal and commercial aspects of institutional investors
- Structured and accurate, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide business-focused advice
- Proactive and self-driven work style and a good team player
- Ambition to excel
- High level of integrity
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, highly proficient in written and spoken English
