Warner Bros. Entertainment, a Time Warner Company, is a global leader in the creation, distribution, licensing and marketing of theatrical motion pictures, TV programming, animation, computer games, video/DVD and related products. The Company stands at the forefront of every aspect of the entertainment industry, from feature film, TV and home entertainment production and worldwide distribution to DVD, digital distribution, animation, comic books, licensing, international cinemas and broadcasting.
Warner Bros. is recruiting a Senior Solicitor to assist in the Privacy, Marketing and Interactive areas. This is a broad and exciting role which involves advising across a wide range of Warner Bros.' European businesses on a variety of legal and commercial issues.
As the successful candidate, you will ideally have a minimum of 6 years' PQE* and will have qualified in a well-respected law firm in the UK or another EU jurisdiction.
The role requires a self-starter with a deep working knowledge of consumer, marketing, general data protection and information technology laws and practice, as well as a background in general commercial law and practice. That knowledge should be combined with strong oral and written communication and contract drafting skills, as well as some prior hands-on experience of e-commerce, intellectual property and marketing promotions/competitions.
Previous experience of supervising more junior lawyers would also be useful, as well as experience of working in or with marketing/B2C/D2C teams within large international companies or social media/digital organisations, agencies and/or platforms.
Due to the cross-jurisdictional nature of the role, candidates who have worked previously in different European countries and/or who are fluent in at least one European language (other than English) would be extremely desirable. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to enter a leading international media organisation, working with a friendly, strategic and visible team on a wide variety of challenging work.
The contract is due to commence in March 2015
*Candidates outside of the stated PQE range who possess the core competencies listed above are also encouraged to apply as well as candidates who are interested in a 4 day a week role.
