We are currently looking for an experienced and talented Corporate Counsel to support the Amazon’s growing digital music business. The role is based in Luxembourg and is a great opportunity for a media specialist wanting to work in a fast-paced, cutting-edge and international environment.
Responsibilities will include structuring, drafting and negotiating strategic content license agreements for both sound recording and music publishing rights and advising on a broad range of operational issues, marketing issues, regulatory compliance and intellectual property issues. You will work closely with business team members as well as with other members of the legal department. Some International travel will be required.
The position is based in Amazon’s EU Headquarters in the vibrant city of Luxembourg. Some international travel will be required. Basic Qualifications:
- At least three years of legal experience in a transactional role (media, entertainment, technology, or intellectual property transactions), preferably in-house
- At least three years of law firm experience, preferably in a top-tier media practice
- Qualified as a solicitor in at least one European jurisdiction
- Fluency in English is essential, fluency in another European language is desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong drafting, negotiating and deal-making experience are a must, as are project management skills and top analytical skills. You must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and getting things done, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Experience in media distribution and licensing, in technology and/or in the mobile domain is a plus. Top candidates will also have the ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams, excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects at once and to follow through and meet deadlines, strong written and oral communication skills, common sense and a good sense of humor. Past experience practicing at a top national firm is strongly preferred. In-house experience is a plus but not required. Experience working in the media/music industry will be looked upon favorably.
