An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an entrepreneurial Data Protection and Technology Lawyer to join the legal team of a household name Nasdaq listed technology company in Dublin. The team is extremely international and engaged on a variety of high profile projects with a focus on providing disruptive, innovative commercial solutions. The successful candidate will work on the most exciting legal issues with a broad and challenging remit.
Responsibilities as follows;
- Work closely with the Head of Data Protection and other commercial, regulatory, litigation and privacy attorneys to advise on compliance with European and global data protection laws.
- Provide legal advice to teams from Engineering, Product Management, Advertising, Marketing and Communications from the initial stages of product development to market launch.
- Work closely with the Head of Data Protection and the Director of privacy policy on developing and implementing data protection policies for the company's European headquarters and its global offices.
- Provide support to and advise European policy team members on diverse range of legal issues, including consumer protection and data protection and Contribute to and provide data protection training and awareness programs.
- Provide support to a cross-functional data protection compliance team on data protection and privacy questions, including data security issues.
The Candidate

- 5 years' PQE - Solicitor or barrister, (qualified to practice law in a European member state), with significant in-depth and related experience. Such experience should include advising companies on all areas of technology law and European data protection and privacy issues.
- A demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make sound judgments enabling the completion of several simultaneous projects to tight deadlines.
- Experience working with a web 2.0 or social networking company on privacy issues
- Fluent in English and a knowledge of, or fluency in, other European languages a plus
