London (Spanish focus)
Our client is a global IT company and has consistently been recognised as one of the Fortune 100 best companies to wok for over the past 6 years, with no expectation for this change. Growing at an amazing rate and with exciting, new career opportunities opening up daily, this company is seeking to appoint a high energy Corporate Counsel with specialist IT skills to support Spain and the Southern European regions, as well as the rest of EMEA.
The company can offer flexibility, in terms of working arrangements, provided that the quality of your work is first class. You will be based in central London, however joining a very international legal team. Reporting into the Assistant General Counsel, EMEA, you will play a key role and be focussed on supporting the EMEA Sales and Professional services organisation in structuring, negotiating and drafting commercial transactions across the region.
Key responsibilities will include; partnering with revenue recognition, sales operations, technology operations and other major stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and process; negotiating partner agreements in collaboration with colleagues in the US; assist in developing training materials and provide training to the business on areas including the contract process and data privacy, for example, and actively contribute overall to the EMEA IT/Commercial team.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must be an outstanding individual with between 3 and 8 years' post-qualification experience. You may be qualified outside of the UK, however you must be fluent in English and Spanish, both in terms of drafting, advising and negotiating commercial and technology agreements (however all candidates with the appropriate level of skills and experience will be considered) It is a given that you will have excellent academic credentials and first trained with a leading law firm. You may still be employed in private practice however to be considered positively for this role, you should have a minimum 6 months secondment experience. In house experience is preferred, particularly from a 'pacey' US multi-national, IT or otherwise. Those with oustanding IT skills, including cloud computing and SaaS are particularly encouraged to apply.
To re-cap. This is a European role, supporting Spain and the Southern European regions in particular. Therefore, you must have Spanish language skills and ideally, local jurisdictional knowledge and experience. At the same time you must also be able to draft and negotiate in English and be experienced in operating across Europe, as this role is not limited to any one geography.
