Two ambitious New York qualified capital markets attorneys (junior & senior associate level) are sought for our clients expanding Sydney office. This is a rare and compelling opportunity that would ideally suit an Antipodean national that has gained their experience to date overseas under US law and is looking to return to Australia permanently - though sponsorship will be available candidates that can evidence a long-term commitment to working in Australia.
With a strong background in capital markets work gained at a premier US or Magic Circle firm, it is envisaged applicants will have gained their experience to date (circa 2-7yrs pqe) representing both underwriters and issuers on a variety of debt and equity capital markets transactions, including global initial public offerings, secondary share transactions, high-yield, investment grade, sovereign, exchange, and tender offers, consent solicitations, and other liability management and restructuring exercises, in U.S. offerings under Rule 144A, offerings outside the United States under Regulation S, and other exempt transactions.
It is essential that candidates will have a strong academic pedigree with a JD or LLM from a premier US Law School and ideally be admitted to practice in New York.
On offer is a full New York salary and the opportunity to get involved in big ticket capital markets work, representing Australian, New Zealand, U.S. and other international companies and investment banks in connection with U.S. and international capital raising's and stock exchange listings, as well as cross-border mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance transactions.
