A major financial institution is looking to enhance its internal capability in the discovery arena across the organisation globally. A key hire for this area to be properly developed, will be a litigation lawyer with extensive experience in this e-discovery to focus on the UK portfolio. Prioritising cases and working proactively with external vendors will require a strong understanding of the legal aspects of discovery work. You will co-ordinate with technology and record teams, HR and litigation, liaising closely with senior stakeholders around the business. This role will involve occasional overseas travel as you manage complex projects and it is envisaged that there will be significant growth and long term challenges for the post holder.
With a litigation background you will have a strong interest in the technical elements of discovery. Ideally you will be a qualified lawyer who has worked with banks and you need to understand the process of e-disclosure rather than be stuck in the substance of the case. As a part of the highly regarded legal department you will be advising and making decisions whilst consulting with law firms in complex matters.
