About Eversheds
The risk team, led by the Risk Director, works with lawyers and other colleagues around the business in order to develop and implement effective policies and procedures, respond to changing client expectations, and ensure compliance with new legislative and regulatory requirements. The team also manages the firm’s insurance, claims and in-house legal matters, and oversees other issues affecting the firm’s risk profile and reputation. Our team is successfully creating a robust framework for managing risk across all parts of our business, which continues to expand internationally.
Reporting to the Head of UK Risk, the Global Subcontracting Officer will manage the roll-out of a key firm-wide project focused on streamlining the way in which we work with our extensive network of international relationship firms. This strategic project will involve interaction with partner firms, senior stakeholders, and the wider Risk, Marketing and Finance teams.
Key responsibilities:
The Global Subcontracting Officer will be a key member of the core project team and will be required to drive the firm’s subcontracting project to completion. The role will involve:
· liaising between the core project team and key stakeholders;
· establishing a system to track and report on project progress and escalate issues arising;
· organising our partner firms and preparing any required documents in accordance with the project plan;
· reviewing and collating information about our partner firms;
· escalating issues to the Head of UK Risk and other senior stakeholders where appropriate;
· updating contractual documentation (with input from commercial lawyers) and maintaining internal records;
· following up diligently on outstanding issues to ensure the project maintains momentum;
· corresponding directly with partner firms, and their respective Eversheds’ contacts;
· managing associated administration.
As well as driving the project internally, the Global Subcontracting Officer will be directly interfacing with our partner firms, and will therefore be representing Eversheds externally. We are looking for someone who is highly organised and methodical, can communicate confidently and professionally with an impressive writing style, and is proactive and motivated, with great attention to detail.
Skills and experience:
The Global Subcontracting Officer will be supervised at all times, primarily by the Head of UK Risk and other members of the Risk team. However they will:
· be able to work on their own initiative, be proactive and a strong communicator;
· be organised, methodical and show attention to detail;
· be able to multi-task and prioritise workload;
· have a can-do and adaptable approach in order to deal with range of stakeholders and third parties;
· demonstrate a wide range of skills including good interpersonal, organisational, verbal and written communication skills;
· be highly motivated, accurate and work well under pressure;
· have a good understanding of computer packages including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and able to provide suitably formatted project plans and progress updates to the project team and key stakeholders.
Key competencies:
It is expected that the Global Subcontracting Officer will be highly IT literate with excellent organisational and communication skills. The candidate must be pleasant, courteous and be able to respect the principles of confidentiality.
