About Eversheds
The Eversheds marketing team is widely recognised as challenging the paradigm of traditional law firm marketing. Join us if you thrive in an environment where you are genuinely empowered to lead and deliver on highly strategic and innovative client-facing programmes and projects. You will be dealing with some of the world's top business names working alongside some of the world's leading lawyers, exploiting your professional knowledge and experience. Every day is different but every day is satisfying.
Key responsibilities:
· Define and proactively drive progress against an account plan, achieving stretch goals and income/profitability KPIs.
· Spot opportunities arising out of industry and account specific developments and mobilise the firm into action, providing a direct feed into marketing communications activity.
· Replicate success on a particular account to achieve growth, ensuring best practice and knowledge is transferred across the portfolio.
· Ensure optimum make-up of the Client Service Team (CST), coaching CST members to deliver on their commitments and actions. Tackle non-performance through problem solving and influencing skills. It is of vital importance that the CST reflects the client’s global footprint.
· Manage strategic secondments to ensure anticipated return on investment is realised.
· Craft and drive a bespoke client feedback plan for each account in your personal portfolio, ensuring a follow-up plan is implemented.
· Play an active role in all formal and informal work opportunities, including commercial negotiations, building own network of client contacts and leading the strategy on panel reviews.
· Embrace all firm wide communications and Product & Location marketing initiatives on a global basis, in order to maximise the business development impact with your own portfolio of accounts.
Key measures:
· KPIs of personal portfolio of Key Account Management (KAM) clients
· Demonstrable contribution to success of the global development of the sector.
Skills and experience:
· A committed career business development professional with experience in a client-facing environment. Motivated by delivering commercial results to the business.
· Experienced in all stages of the business development cycle including prospecting, opportunity qualification and pitching through to closing. Experience in leading on commercial opportunities involving major multinational businesses.
· A passion for the sector/sub-sector is required. Evidence of how you have exploited this for business development gain is highly desirable.
· A strong grasp of the full scope of the firm’s market offering, with the ability to quickly mobilise the firm into action, exploiting new hires and material developments for commercial advantage.
Key competencies:
· Confident and credible in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and clients. Ability to influence and persuade senior partners.
· Ability to drive change in a partnership, providing ‘friendly challenge’ and innovative thinking.
· Well-developed diplomacy, listening and influencing skills.
· Strong financial acumen and ability to dissect the financial health at an account and sub-sector level with the capacity to identify and deliver on KPIs, recommending and driving change where necessary. A good understanding of how to add value and demonstrate this value within an organisation.
· Creative, commercial and able to think laterally in identifying and developing opportunities.
· You will have a consistently positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach, as well as the ability being able to work well on your own initiative and as part of a wider team.
· Solution oriented. Pragmatic, robust and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.
· Strong project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting timescales and priorities.
· We’re a modern, progressive law firm. We think differently and we’ve built a culture where individual skills and personalities can shine through. At Eversheds, we believe that innovation comes from having an inclusive culture of genuine equality and diversity and we’re happy to help with any reasonable adjustments you may require in the recruitment process, or once in post.
