The lean legal team of a substantial financial services institution is currently looking to hire their first dedicated competition lawyer to support the group in relation to its retail and investment banking operations. With the up and coming changes in terms of the regulation in this area the business is keen to invest and commit to a devoted resource to work within the legal department and alongside the regulatory affairs team. The role will primarily cover investigations and deal with issues relating to anti competitive agreements and the abuse of a dominant position.
This is a mid-level position and will suit someone 3 to 6 years qualified who would be able to justify their place in front of a senior audience around the organisation. Experience of contact with the regulators will be necessary and you should be very technically strong. You will be expected to operate as part of the team and cover other areas outside of competition where necessary. As part of a smaller legal department you will enjoy freedom and autonomy to influence internally and externally.
