About the Opportunity:
The company is looking to hire a qualified individual for its Senior Legal Counsel (“SLC”) position. SLC will become the primary legal counsel for EMEA business and play an integral part in the company’s strategy to leverage its global platform and strengthen the company’s European presence. In this role, SLC will provide a full range of legal services as well as liaise with external counsel where appropriate. SLC will manage a team across EMEA and lead initiatives and provide ongoing support directly to internal teams on transactional and regulatory issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements as well as advise on M&A opportunities
- Advise senior management on appropriate structures for contractual relationships, regulatory compliance and risk management
- Develop expertise in the client’s practice areas and service offerings, and build strong relationships with the client facing professionals in our various EMEA offices
- Lead on the implementation of a panel of external legal advisors and liaise with such external counsel on all matters
- Support the bid process, go-to-market strategies, review marketing material and sales engagements to ensure legal compliance
- Work with the HR team to ensure employment law compliance
Qualification and Skill Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor, with at least 10 years’ experience within a similar role or significant in-house counsel experience and, ideally, detailed knowledge of EU law or one of the two larger continental law systems
- Experience negotiating, drafting and advising on high value contracts, including multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Broad commercial and corporate experience required including service agreements, licensing policies, employment, property and data protection law
- Strong personal, communication and negotiation skills, capable of dealing with a wide range of people and cultures
- Highly collaborative, flexible and willing to work on a variety of matters
