Key responsibilities:
The role is to provide secretarial and administrative support for Partners and other Legal Advisers in the team, with a split of approximately 40% typing and 60% administration. The Legal Secretary role is crucial to the smooth running of the team. Having good secretarial support improves Legal Advisor turnaround time and improves the service delivered to clients. In an increasingly competitive market we need to be able to deliver excellent service every time.
Candidates should be team players with strong interpersonal skills, able to cope with change and work under pressure. The role will involve some client contact and additional support may be required on project completions.
Day to day duties will include:-
· amending urgent sometimes lengthy corporate documentation,
· diary and e-mail management
· assisting Legal Advisors to manage their finances including monitoring of time recording & financial housekeeping
· supporting Partners with Business Development tasks/events
· file maintenance and archiving in line with the firm's Quality Standards and SRA regulations
· working as part of the secretarial team supporting others as required
Skills and experience:
Ideally you will have previous experience gained within a legal environment or other professional organisations. A minimum of 65 wpm typing speed for copy and audio, RSA II in typing, audio typing or word processing and MS Office skills. Used to working as part of a team and able to demonstrate organisational skills.
Key competencies:
You will be able to use your initiative and anticipate what is needed taking appropriate action as required whilst also demonstrating confidence in own ability. As a highly-motivated individual you will produce accurate work, be able to work under pressure and have a positive approach.
