About us
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is at the heart of UK Financial Services regulation. We are striving to make financial markets work well for consumers and investors. We gain new competition powers on 1 April so the first days of this new regime will be an exciting time to join us. This is your chance to directly influence our approach to making markets more competitive.
About the role
We need an expert in competition law to take charge of a range of projects focused on strengthening competition in the interests of consumers, including market studies, and investigations under the Competition Act. We’ll look to you to deliver high quality evidence and analysis in line with FCA powers and priorities, driving forward our competition mandate. It’s interesting work with problem solving at its core. You will develop theories of harm and analytical frameworks for analysing the effectiveness of competition in particular markets, while working collaboratively to ensure we have the information and research capacity to test our theories.
Alongside benefiting from our excellent work-life balance here at the FCA, you’ll relish the chance to improve consumer outcomes.
About you
You may have played a significant role in competition or regulatory investigations and will be an expert in competition law at UK and EU level. Known for your resilience in achieving quality in potentially lengthy and high profile cases, you will have the credibility and communications ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will also have the ability to make sound judgements and the tenacity to operate in a large and complex organisation.
The value that we place on our people is reflected in an excellent benefits package, a dynamic professional environment, and the chance to build your career in a unique organisation. Together, we can make a huge difference to the FCA and everyone who lives and works in the UK. Find out more via the Apply now button.
Closing date: Midnight on 6 February 2015.
