We have an opportunity for a project coordinator to join our specialist and highly regarded privacy and information law team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will work as part of our energetic and supportive national team undertaking international data protection, transparency and other information law related work on behalf of a wide range of businesses in a wide range of sectors.
Our privacy and information law team handles major projects for some of the largest clients in the world. It is independently ranked for its expertise in international data privacy and freedom of information laws. Key responsibilities: As a Project coordinator, you will play an important part in our privacy and information law team. A large proportion of the instructions we receive are international projects, which require us to co-ordinate the delivery of advice to our clients across multiple locations globally. The project coordinator role is pivotal to our management and delivery of these projects in an efficient way, enabling us to provide dedicated project co-ordination, whilst freeing up the time of more experienced lawyers to focus on the technical advisory matters.
There is also the opportunity for the successful candidate to open out the role to providing support on advisory matters themselves, for example in relation to access requests and filings, in due course were appropriate.
Responsibilities will include
Working with team lawyers to instruct relevant international lawyers and obtain fee quotes
Project management of delivery of agreed work from international lawyers to agreed timescales
Consolidation of inputs received from colleagues into baseline client documents ready for review by lawyers
Following up on client project inputs where appropriate in liaison with managing lawyer
Budget management in respect of each allocated project - making sure we bill and are billed only pre-agreed amounts
Monthly reporting of spend against budget for the allocated clients
Gathering invoices in from international colleagues
Creating efficiencies in the process of co-ordination of work input and billing
Assistance with know-how repository and consolidation and production of appropriate client facing materials. Skills and experience: Strong organisational, time management, prioritisation skills
Good clear communication skills to facilitate interaction with international colleagues
Other languages are advantageous but not essential
Experience of working with others as part of a team ( working with people outside of the UK advantageous but not essential)
Experience of customer facing communications Key competencies: Management of costs and budgets, particularly in a project setting
Experience with word, excel spreadsheets
Document production
Preferably track record of management/co-ordination of projects
