Top City practice with an excellent reputation is seeking an EU/Competition Solicitor to cover a fee-earners' maternity leave initially for nine months.
The firm acts on behalf of clients with significant interests in IP rights in industries such as IT, communications, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and media.
Specialist work in which they are heavily involved includes advice on the competition law treatment of complex R&D or licensing agreements, and advice on the effects of the competition rules on attempts to enforce intellectual property rights in the courts.
The team also has much broader expertise and advises on the full range of competition and European law issues including merger control issues; the competition issues arising from the creation and management of joint ventures; issues relating to distribution and supply of goods and services (particularly across borders); dealing with regulators (the European Commission, the Competition and Markets Authority etc); State aid; public procurement and all forms of litigation where competition issues arise.
The successful individual will have relevant competition experience gained ideally at a Top 200, niche or international firm. The firm is seeking a competition solicitor who has impressive credentials; advisory experience, knowledge of the competition authorities and higher court litigation experience and a ideally working knowledge of IP and TMT.
