Section Manager – Mortgage Enforcement

We have a market leading practice in secured recoveries for residential mortgage lenders in UK and Ireland. With over 120 staff working for 15 of the countries largest lenders we are the largest supplier in this market. Our clients are regulated and conduct risk is a very high priority. Key responsibilities: The Section Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of Telephony Legal Assistants who are responsible for handling calls relating to mortgage litigation cases. Working to set legal procedures within a pressurised environment the Section Manager will be required to perform their daily duties expediently and to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be required to drive continuous performance improvement by;
- Managing, leading and monitoring the performance and quality of individuals in line with regulatory requirements and our clients expectations;
- Delivering constructive feedback in a timely manner and ensuring the necessary development needs are addressed;
- Addressing and proactively managing under performance in a timely and constructive manner;
- Ensuring that resource is deployed appropriately and sufficient resource planning is undertaken;
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key internal and where appropriate external stakeholders;
- Developing an up to date understanding of legislative requirements to ensure that the team operate in accordance to those standards;
The team leader will also ensure service level agreements and key performance indicators are adhered to on behalf of the client.
Skills and experience:
- Experience of managing a telephony team
- Experienced in setting objectives and monitoring performance against them
- Evidence of coaching and giving feedback
- Financial Services experience preferable
- Time management and organisational skills
- An ability to work under pressure and motivate staff to achieve challenging objectives daily
- Strong customer service/arrears management background
Key competencies:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as the role involves a high amount of interaction with senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Visio, Project).
- Self-starter with a can-do approach.
