The firm
Highly unique role for a firm I can't recommend enough - both because of its extremely forward thinking attitude towards flexibility / remote working and the sheer positivity of the partners I have met who work there. The corporate banking team are in need of cover as from December / January to replace a senior associate who is going on maternity leave. Despite being South West based, our client continues to attract candidates from a top-tier City background (global elite / major international / silver circle) by being extremely progressive on the flexible working front and because of its thoroughly lovely team atmosphere. Two of its Bristol office partners are based in London and Germany respectively and work largely from home - one of whom is in the banking team.
The role
The role can be part-time (3 or 4 days / week - latter preferable) and the majority of the work done from home. The team would obviously like an initial period of getting to know you and so there would be a few days / week at the start for an induction period. The role involves taking responsibility for a number of corporate support banking matters and working for a range of top tier banking clients, including a number of Islamic banks, private companies and individuals on banking and finance transactions on both a secured and unsecured basis. This may include drafting and negotiating loan agreements, intercreditor documentation and security documentation in connection with corporate facilities, acquisition finance facilities, real estate (investment and development) finance facilities and Islamic financing transactions. Also, preparing, agreeing and collating ancillary documents (board minutes, shareholder resolutions, security registration forms, security release documentation, director's certificates); researching legal issues; reviewing/collating electronic data and preparing files.
The candidate
You must be able to demonstrate first rate experience of dealing with a wide range of banking issues and advising clients, including a track record of demonstrating insight and understanding of complex client needs in the business context and marketplace in which they are operating. Our client is particularly keen to attract a senior candidate able to work with a significant degree of autonomy so as to relieve some of the pressure on the banking partner.
