About Eversheds

Eversheds is not your average law firm and we're not looking for average people. We do things differently - in the way we treat our people and the service we provide. That's how we've become one of the largest law firms in the world and a great place to work and develop your career.

Our shipping & international trade team handles international matters for international clients. We act for ship owners, charterers and operators, together with their insurers and financiers. Increasingly, we are involved in the business of logistics and multi-modal transport. From our bases in Europe, the Middle East and Far East we provide worldwide coverage for our European and global shipping clients.

The team offers a specialist maritime law practice covering the full range of contentious and non-contentious shipping work, with a focus on energy related work and we are looking to recruit to cover both our contentious and non contentious work.

Key responsibilities:

You will be expected to provide general support to the shipping team.

You will assist the Partners in undertaking all aspects of work generation, client work and relationship management, business development and financial management.

You will have the opportunity to leverage off Eversheds' unique selling points so far as the market is concerned, including specialist sector expertise, international capability and a highly developed project management approach. This will involve opportunities in the local market, but also in respect of wider national and international initiatives within Eversheds.

Skills and experience:

You will have experience and can demonstrate skills in client service, business development and people development skills. We are also looking for strong organisational and time management skills as part of your skills in this role.

Key competencies:

You will be a strong team player with a high level of commitment to client care. A good communicator, you will be willing to embrace office/firmwide initiatives. Technical expertise will be required, as will an appreciation of, and dedication to, efficient financial management.

You will have experience of leading teams both on the ground and virtual.

In addition to the above, Eversheds also require awareness and full participation in the Firm’s commitment to equality and diversity, the environment and health and safety.

Eversheds endeavours to recruit and fill vacancies directly. However, when we do need to engage with agencies, Eversheds operates within a preferred supplier list.

Eversheds is one of the world’s largest corporate law firms. Committed locally, but connected globally, with over 40 offices based in the world’s major economic centres.
