We are looking for a Lawyer to join our expanding Energy team. The role is primarily focused on providing advice on commercial energy contracts and associated regulatory issues in the UK market.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent academics, commercial acumen and good quality experience of advising on commercial contracts associated with the UK energy sector, preferably gained from a leading law firm.
Main duties and responsibilities
In addition to providing top quality legal advice to clients in our Energy practice, the role will involve assisting in the development of our practice both nationally and internationally.
The Energy team takes a leading role on the development of new energy infrastructure projects. The role will involve being part of that leading team as well as providing a "corporate support" type role on other projects.
The Energy team
Burges Salmon's Energy team is recognised by independent marketplace commentators and legal directories as one of the national leaders in both energy and environmental law.
Chambers 2014 says of the team:
"Vast experience in advising clients on nuclear and renewables matters, including wave and tidal projects."
"They have a deep knowledge of the renewables market."
"This is a very good energy practice, home to excellent individuals."
With decades of experience, we advise on cutting edge energy projects in the UK, all types of renewable energy, nuclear decommissioning, nuclear new build and conventional power. Some of our headline projects include the Seagreen Round 3 offshore wind farm, the UK's first deep geothermal project, nuclear new build projects in the UK and overseas, the UK's largest biomass projects and Europe's largest tidal energy project. You will have the chance to work on similar type projects and be part of shaping the UK's future generating capacity.
